The Metropolitan Technological University (Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana) calls for a public tender to incorporate 40 academics with a doctorate in the areas:

• Economics and Business

These Faculty job applications seek to promote undergraduate and postgraduate formative processes and frontiers research within the following faculties:

• FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
• FACULTY OF CONSTRUCTION SCIENCES AND TERRITORIAL PLANNING
• FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES, MATHEMATICS, AND ENVIRONMENT
• FACULTY OF ADMINISTRATION AND ECONOMY
• ACADEMIC VICE-RECTORY (New careers in Psychology and Law)

These positions aim to improve undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, reinforce academic, strengthen multidisciplinary research teams that favor scientific-technological productivity and innovation, and promote the awarding of projects with external competitive financing.

The contest will consider promoting gender equality as part of our academic policies to balance gender relations within the academic space.

The application process begins on July 10, 2023, and lasts until July 23, 2023. The candidates could be Chilean or foreign.

Candidates must have undergraduate studies and an academic degree (Ph.D/Doctor), according to the academic profile of the position, demonstrating training in the established areas and showing evidence of performance in research, development, and innovation or creation.

MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS TO FILL EACH POSITION

The minimum application requirements to fill each academic position on a contractual basis are detailed below for each faculty. The academic hierarchies that are expected to be filled with these positions are:

• Assistant Professor, hierarchy associated with grades 8, 9, and 10 of the Single Remuneration Scale (EUR), in accordance with the provisions of the Academic Career Regulations in force at the University.
• Associate Professor, hierarchy associated with grades 6, 7, and 8 of the Single Remuneration Scale (EUR), in accordance with the provisions of the Academic Career Regulations in force at the University.
• Full Professor, hierarchy associated with grades 4,5, and 6 of the Single Remuneration Scale (EUR), in accordance with the provisions of the Academic Career Regulations in force at the University.

For reference purposes, the gross monthly rents for the following grades are detailed below:

• 4th grade of the EUR: $ 3,809,474 (Chilean pesos).
• 5th grade of the EUR: $ 3,595,421 (Chilean pesos).
• Grade 6 of the EUR: $3,454,567 (Chilean pesos).
• 7th Grade of the EUR: $3,075,025 (Chilean pesos).
• Grade 8 of the EUR: $2,904,293 (Chilean pesos).
• Grade 9 of the EUR: $2,690,981 (Chilean pesos).
• 10th grade of the EUR: $2,537,098 (Chilean pesos).

In addition to the above, academics will be able to access economic incentives for scientific productivity, according to current regulations at the University.
